Party America

Thursday was one of the worst days I have had this week. I take back what I said about hating work less. I hate it now more than ever before! It has become a hostile work environment! However since my supervisor has a permanent position and I unfortunately have a flex position I am at fault. They would rather send me away than the one who is not only making my life hell, but my coworkers’ as well. I understand you cannot pay bills without a job. However this chimpanzee makes me WANT to quit no matter what the cost!

Costumes… This year for Halloween I decided to be a hippie. Good idea, Yes? No! Absolutely no one had any hippie costumes in stock! Thursday I finally went to Party America and found a few peace sign necklaces. I then decided to improvise with items I already owned. The peace sign necklaces would complete the ensemble. When I arrive at the cash register I cannot find the 20-dollar bill that I had thought I had in my purse nor can I find my debit card. Therefore I had to apologize to the cashier explaining I could not purchase the item since I could not find my debit card. As I walked out of the store walking towards my car I thought to myself (sarcastically) ‘Of course I would not be able to buy the only hippie item I could find in the city’. I felt more and more depressed with each step towards the car (I had a really bad day at work and it seemed as though the day was only becoming worse).

I open the car door and suddenly I hear this guy yelling at me, “Hey! Hey! Do you really want it?” I turn around and see the cashier. I reply, “Yes but I cannot find my debit card.” He replies, “It is only $2.71 I can cover it.” I felt confused. Why would he pay for it? “Really?” I ask. “Yeah it is no problem,” he replies. I walk back into the store and he pays for it. I tell him, “ Thank you so much!” As I walk out of the store the second time towards my car I think what a nice gentleman he was to pay for a complete stranger’s item. I then began to ponder why he would do such a nice thing? Antoinette said it was because he thought I was pretty. Which could not possibly be the reason since it was the end of a workday and I had not made a single touch up to my make-up. My hair was frizzy and I had absolutely no eye make-up on. In addition I knew I had an expression of irritation the first time he looked at me (It was a VERY bad day). So why would he do something so nice? I have every intention of repaying the favor! Thank You Gentleman from Party America!

Wish I May Wish I Might

My finger is healing well. I hate work slightly less than normal. I am broke and have to move back in with my parents. I meet a coworker of Antoinette’s last night. In addition Antoinette and I sang karaoke (Don’t Stop Believing by Journey).

Halloween… I recently discovered that we are permitted to wear a costume the Friday before Halloween to work. Although the costume does have to be age appropriate and non-scary. I have decided to wear a hippie costume!

Wish List… Since I haven’t had any money lately I have been making wish lists. Most of the items are interesting. Here are some items I hope to buy in the near future. If any of you are interested in any of the items listed, a link is below each picture.

リンゴ

Apple Cider… I tried this drink for the first time this week. The box was next to the teas in the grocery store and was only one dollar. So I thought to myself, “Why Not?” Interesting drink… To me it tastes similar to a sour apple candy in liquid form; which is not necessarily a bad thing. However I would say it was not my favorite flavor. On the back of the box it has recipes that require apple cider. Maybe one of those will be suit my taste.

No Money equals Weight Gain… Today I stepped onto the scale and the numbers I read shocked me! I gained 2 kg (5 lbs)! Lately I haven’t been able to buy groceries and cook for the diet I am on. *Fingers crossed that my e-book will sell*

Breakout… As of late my skin has been breaking out! I do not understand it! I have been exfoliating everyday! I once used Proactive and it worked very well but I could not continue to spare FIFTY dollars a month on skincare! That is almost a month’s worth of groceries! I suppose I could probably increase the amount of egg masks I use.

Worries

I emailed my query letter to two literary agents and both replied with a message of rejection. Although I will say that the rejections were not too terrible. The reason for the first rejection was that my story seemed to not match his genre; however, he urged me to continue sending the query letter out. He also urged me to query him again if I were to write something in his genre. The second rejection was not willing to develop new talent; which I understand. In spite of these rejections I fully intend to send my query letter out again. *Fingers Crossed*

Work Blues…Someone please explain something to me about leave slips. Should an individual be approved for leave for a “Personal Day” or “Mental Health Day”; meanwhile, another individual is denied leave for a wedding? Especially when the “Mental Health Day” individual receives leave with pay and the other receives leave without pay? Just ranting…

Trapped… A few months ago a coworker confessed to me that she felt trapped. She further explained saying that she had applied for a great number of many different positions. Unfortunately no one wanted to hire her. She continued by saying that she hated her job, but again felt that she could not do anything about it. At the time I also hated (and currently still hate) my job, but did not share the same feeling of being trapped. However now I entirely agree with her! I have applied for many positions and all have denied me worthy of the position. I feel that I am a bird trapped in a cage. No matter how long, how loud, or how many times I shriek to be released the cage is never opened. A wild bird trapped stops fighting if you keep it caged long enough. I hope to never stop fighting.

Finger… My finger is still wrapped in gauze and a splint. How long until the gauze and splint will be removed? I am not sure. The only instructions I received where to redress it daily and wash with soapy water. Which is understandable since it is Finger Avulsion (For those of you who don’t know Finger Avulsion is loss of the tip of the finger). Gruesome, I know but the doctor did say that it would grow back.

Broke… Antoinette had mentioned recently that she and I both were trying to find ways to make more money (100% true). We recently took a trip to Panama City Beach (two of our friends were marrying each other). We barely had any money for that! We both were broke so we ended up staying at Knight's Inn ( it was fifty-five dollars a night). What was the quality of the hotel? The (mini) refrigerator had a foul smell every time the door was opened. The tub/shower had cracks around the top and what looked similar to mildew to stand in. Behind the stand the television was on we found a shirt and few beer bottle caps. The room also had a foul smell of mildew paired with cigarette smoke. The smell was so foul we went Wal-Mart and Antoinette bought a vanilla scented plug in! In addition the elevator was so old that we made a point to only use it if we needed to (To carry luggage to and from our hotel room was the ONLY time we used the elevator!). Instead we used the stairs! There are countless other horrors we encountered there that I have not named. Let me go onto saying that we had paid for two nights and on the second night we left because we did not want to spend another night in that hotel.

In addition please feel free to leave comments! I will do my best to reply to all!

Finger Avulsion

Recently I accidentally cut my finger on a glass mug. The doctor stitched the blood vessel closed because it would not stop bleeding. It is currently wrapped in a splint and gauze. In addition I was prescribed medication that have me feeling lightheaded and nauseous.  Regrettably I must apologize to everyone it will be a while before I will be able to make another post.
The first time my hand was wrapped.

The second time they wrapped my hand.

Japanese Diet ;-)

Japanese Women Don’t Get Old or Fat … Lately I found myself reading this fascinating book. As most of you know I am presently dieting with little success. On more than one occasion I have found myself cheating. Then I read about a Japanese diet (you eat only Japanese dishes). I thought YES that would be ecstasy! So I bought the book and am currently reading it.

*Japanese Women Don’t Get Old or Fat by Naomi Moriyama and William Doyle

It is by far nothing I expected (It is not a diet book). It is a book about how to enjoy food and be healthy at the same time. I haven’t completely immersed myself into it yet (I am waiting for payday so I can stock up on a couple of ingredients). I am even contemplating buying a bike to ride for the weekends (ONLY CONTEMPLATING).

Not leaving… Unfortunately I was persuaded into not quitting my job. Wondering why I did not finish out my two weeks as planned (especially when I find not leaving “Unfortunate”)? The answer is simple (it is a two part answer). 1. I did not have another job waiting for me. 2. Many promises were made in an effort to keep me from leaving. It was my choice to stay; therefore, why do I find it unfortunate? Thus far only 75% of the promises have been fulfilled.

Vacation with Skin79 and Pocky!

Vacation… I took a small vacation away from my diet; which lasted for four days. Yes I know that I cannot be making progress if I am taking vacations away from my diet. I was constantly cheating three days in a row. Hence the reason I took a “vacation” away from my diet that made cheating plausible. Tomorrow vacation ends and STRICT dieting and exercising will begin!

Surveys… Recently I was paid for completing a few surveys online. The forms of payment they use (the website I am subscribed to) are gift cards. The gift card I choose was Amazon! Guess what I bought? SKIN79 Super+ Perfection Beblesh Balm BB Cream!

Photo from: http://www.jayio.com/2010/05/skin79-super-perfection-triple-functions-bb-cream-spf-25-pa-2/

It will take three to five days for the package to arrive. As soon as I am able to test it I will write a review on it. : -} About to burst from the anticipation!

Pocky Sticks… A few months ago I discovered a delicious candy/snack at the market.
Photo from: http://www.pockystore.co.uk/strawberrypocky.htm

Pocky (pronounce Pokkī) sticks! This snack is absolutely delicious! Pocky sticks come in many different flavors, although my favorite flavor (thus far) is strawberry.

If you guys ever want to know what blogs I read there is a list to the right. :-]
